Recent map rotation update

Three maps were recently modified:

One new AAS map was added to the loop: The Battle for Paris. You may have played this map before and it is also a base for map used in Total International Conflict Tournament. Version that I uploaded to Legacy Server was modified to add tiles, vehicles, buildings, armouries and other objects. It is also possible to climb up to the Eiffel tower which wasn't possible in the original version of the map. I think this map can be further improved in the future - let me know if you want to change anything in particular!

Another map that was changed is -egs- Rocks Nation. This map didn't match the basic SpecOps Legacy server rule for maps - TKOH zone was too small and not enough cover to be defendable. New version has big enough zone with multiple places to cover. Second floor in the zone is now also accessible.

3rd map that was replaced is Warskillz jop one. It was Team Deathmatch map with annoying X spawn in the water. It is now TKOH map and X spawn is now on the ground to make the game faster and more fun.

Maps rotation update.

Map loop is scheduled for update Saturday September 12. Likely all maps in currently active loop will stay but there will be several maps added and map order will be changed to improve diversity.

The only map that will be updated with the new version is White City. Per popular demand there were several updates to empower the team attacking uphills. One change is another .50cal hidden in the gap between garages located between Alpha and Bravo. This machine-gun is designed to help kill anybody who wants to name from the top of the hill (similar to another .50cal between X-ray and Alpha). Another significant change is added PSP on side deck used to access rocket helicopter helipad. This place is very difficult to reach but uphill attacking team (rebels) have a great chance now to reach this place and use it to support uphill attack because they now have a benchbird located between X-ray and Alpha. This help should go get the PSP as soon as possible and than it can be used for fight with waders on the top. It is to be seen if this can better balance the game or it will be too much of an advantage.

D-Day revisited

D-Day revisited is just another often misunderstood map in the loop. Although it is TKOH this map is actually to be played as Attack/Defend. At first glance it looks like all advantages are on the side of island defenders but with a little bit of coordination attacking team can get the island and win the game. The key asset on attackers' side is the rocket helicopter. It can be either used to attack and get control over Alpha PSP needed to control the island or it can hover above attackers' X to provide fire support for coordinated boat attack. Distance between defender's positions and attackers' X is big enough to make Stingers unable to lock the target unless helicopter comes any closer. Because the rocket heli is such an important weapon defenders should do all they can to eliminate it. For that purpose they can use emplaced .50cal machine guns in bunkers or snipe pilot's seat to prevent hell from take off. If helipad is under the fire and it is impossible to take off there is one method attackers can use to push helicopter behind the cover - just get into APC, drive it to the helipad and gently push helicopter behind the wall out of the sight of snipers and gunners. Remote control of SpecOps Legacy server is set to run this map twice so both teams can try play attack and defend side of the map.

White City

OK, so this is the map so many players hate - White City. Some say there are too many bugs, some say it is too difficult, some say it is ugly. So why it stays in the loop? Because I think it is beautiful, interesting and it is a good map for team to play together to win. Concept is actually quite simple: One team advances going uphill, the other team advances going downhill. Sometimes it seems like it is impossible for the team attacking uphill to win as there is clearly an advantage for the other team dropping grenades from above. But the map is designed to balance disadvantages with shortcuts accessible only from below and there is also one emplaced .50cal by X spawn and one nadelauncher by Alpha that should be use to keep the top clear from naders. You can even reach the rocket hell if you know how to get there. Just learn to know the map and you'll enjoy the game!
